The Belknap Point Motel Location
The Belknap Point Motel provides lodging in Gilford on Lake Winnipesaukee in the heart of the Lakes Region of New Hampshire. The view of Lake Winnipesaukee and its bordering mountains is spectacular. With the Ossipees to the east, the foothills of the White Mountains to the north, and Mount Washington appearing on nice clear days, it is beautiful.
We offer efficiency units directly on the waterfront that accommodate one or two adults. The rooms are very cottage like but all under one roof. The building set back on the hill is our motel lodging offering traditional style motel rooms to accommodate adults and children, each with private balconies overlooking the marvelous view.

A Word About Lake Winnipesaukee
The name "Winnipesaukee" came from the Great Chief Wonaton meaning "Smile of the Great Spirit". Aside from the Great Lakes, Winnipesaukee is among the largest lakes in the US. The area of the water surface covers 72 square miles. There is approximately 283 miles of shoreline with over 270 islands on the lake. Maximum depths at "The Broads" of Winnipesaukee is 180 feet. During the summer months the lake features a floating post office. The US MAIL Boat "Sophie C" takes on passengers as she delivers mail to island residents.
