The Belknap Point Motel is located on "The Broads" of Lake Winnipesaukee in Gilford New Hampshire. "The Broads" is the wide expanse area of the lake which ranges south & east to Alton and Wolfboro. The view of the lake, the surrounding mountains and the White Mountains to the north from the motel is spectacular. Our location is very unique, located in a residential district it provides a very serene and quiet experience for our guests. Our guests can swim, boat, fish, or simply relax right at the shore of the big lake.
About Winnipesaukee
The name Winnipesaukee came from the Great Chief Wonaton meaning "Smile of the Great Spirit'. The area of the water surface covers 72 square miles. There are approximately 283 miles of shorline with over 270 islands on the lake. Maximum water depth at "The Broads" of Winnipesaukee is 180 feet. The communitees bordering Winnipesaukee are Gilford, Laconia, Meredith, Center Harbor, Moultonborough, Melvin Village, Tuftonboro, Wolfboro and Alton.
